Wedding and Event Styling Services

donna3Styling…it’s the newest trend in the Wedding and Event Planning world. 10 years ago it was mainly full planning.  5 years ago the new push was for the DOC (or Day of Coordinator).  And now, it’s styling. With the onset of the DIY bride and blogs like Style Me Pretty and 100 Layer Cake, the wedding stylist was born.  I have personally seen a boom in my business with clients wanting me to style their weddings.  Yes, please!!

By ‘style’ I mean, take your 500 pins from pinterest and turn all of those ideas into a cohesive look.  Or come up with a rockin’ new idea just for your wedding!  It is awesome!  I love it…it is so much more creative than being the DOC and I really get to work with my clients on a one-on-one basis to make their wedding ideas come to fruition.  Here are a few examples of wedding I styled recently.  Photos courtesy of Matthew of Cly Creations (more photos from this wedding and the amazing Matthew soon!!)

Maura & Jay – Liberty House

jm3Maura and Jay…they were lovely.  I walked into their apartment to check on the guys getting ready and found a whole gaggle of men trying to figure out how to tie a bowtie.  They weren’t too successful.  But they sure were trying!  I took over and needless to say, the bowties were tied.  I love the photos from Inku Photography, especially the ones in the Old Central Railroad in Liberty State Park.  They are simply gorgeous.

Look…there I am tying a bowtie!jm5

Julia and Michael…I have never had such dancers at a wedding…ever.  They danced all night.  Their guests danced all night.  I danced all night (well, on the edge of the dance floor with Marykate when we weren’t attending to something).  It was the most fun wedding.  Photos courtesy of the talented Julian Ribnik.

Megan & Danny – 632 On Hudson

I feel like I say how much I love working with all of my bride’s and groom’s, but that is a perk of my job.  I really do get to choose who I want to work with (and the choose me too!) thus I LOVE my couples!!  With that being said, I REALLY do love Megan and Danny!  They were simply one of the funniest and sweetest couples that I have had the pleasure of working with!  At the end of the evening, I felt sad because I knew I wouldn’t be seeing them as often, that is one of the unfortunate parts of my job.  I work so closely with everyone, that once the weddings over, it feels like losing a friend.

On to Megan and Danny’s wedding!  It was at the very, very unique venue 632 On Hudson.  The gorgeous photos are from the talented Kimberly Hurst. I hope you enjoy!

This is Danny…this is what I dealt with the entire day…his laughter…it was amazing!
