Okay, so this is a post about my own wedding, but since it’s my anniversary (four years!) I thought I would revisit some of my favorite photos. We decided to rent a gorgeous beach house for the ceremony and reception location. The bonus in doing that was we had it for the entire week leading up to the wedding. We invited our entire bridal party to stay with us since the house slept 16. It was a classic South Carolina beach house with a huge yard that lead down to the dunes and the beach.
We had the ceremony in the grass and we were framed by two palm trees. It was a breath taking setting, that needed little decoration.
We had a huge tent and chose to have four long tables for our guests instead of the more traditional rounds. It gave the reception a more casual feel, which was exactly what we were going for.
I think on some level, I chose to have a June wedding so I could have pink peonies as my bouquet. I fell in love with this bouquet after seeing a photo in a bridal magazine. I knew I had to have it! It was perfect, just what I envisioned.
I love monograms, so I had the ribbon for the bouquet monogramed and added our wedding date. I still have the ribbon, and if I ever find the time, I will put it in my wedding scrapbook. Of course, that implies that I have started a wedding scrapbook. For now it’s just a wedding box…
Ahh, our cake…I adore this cake. It is an exact replica of a Martha Stewart cake, except with pink details. I am sure it was delicious, however, I honestly don’t remember how it tasted. I just remember how much I loved the way it looked!
I had three flower girls and a ring bearer. Their dear, sweet mother traveled from Los Angeles to South Carolina just for our wedding. I’m still not sure she realizes how much it meant to me. This is one of my favorite photos from the entire wedding. I love the detail photos and have many decorating the walls and table tops in my home.
It brings back so many wonderful memories to look through our wedding photos. It was a perfect day. The rain that threatened all week, held off until the following morning. (Which made for a very soggy brunch, but at that point, I didn’t mind at all – I was married and happy!)
